Canada Day, the Brantford Way
We’re proud to be Canadian.
From Brantford in particular, if you want to get down to brass tacks about it.
Our city knows how to work hard, pick itself up, shake the dust off and try it again if things don’t work out the first time. We’re scrappy, resourceful and know that as long as you leave by 6 PM, you can still make it to Port Dover in time for an Arbor dog.
With so many great things to celebrate for Canada’s 150th, we wanted to share some close-to-home ideas for your long weekend ahead. For you unfortunate folks like Andy & Kate who will still be working hard – please know that we’ll think of you briefly at some point as we’re off doing some of the really fun things listed below.
Let’s Party like its 1867.
Happy 150th Canada!!
It’s a big birthday and we’re going to make sure it goes down in the books as a good one.
Starting Friday, the city of Brantford is hosting an impressive Canada Day weekend lineup. Live entertainment (and lots of it!), beer tent, midway, marketplace & Canadian Eats – need we say more?
Follow the links below to find the daily event schedule.
Looking for a place to happen (upon)? Make some stops along the way (at these super cool places).
Family raft trips, canoe trips, kayak trips, river tubing, stand up paddle-board trips and campsites along the Grand River.
This family-run business offers great outdoor adventures, an easy reservation system and an experience you won’t forget. Go to their site, see the gigantic list of options, and book online – you won’t be disappointed.
This place is more exciting than opening day at Dairee Delite.
Since turning 150 won’t likely happen for you, get out there and make some memories – and who wouldn’t remember wine-tasting observatory tours, axe-throwing and glamping in a Wilderness pod?
This charming little town is jam-packed full of chic little shops, watercraft rentals, a substantial beach and loads of fun. Check out some of the great restaurants such as the Crepe House and the famous beach-friendly Arbor Restaurant. Get yourself an Arbor dog and Cherry Glow – you can thank us later.

Located in Port Dover – this challenging obstacle course includes suspension bridges, cargo nets, tarzan swings, lumberjack logs and zip-lines. Basically, it’s a giant aerial jungle gym that adults can play on without fear of playground-shaming.
Check out the website for a list of things to bring & how to book, throw the family in the car and get going!
